Site Design
This project entailed the relocation of the existing entrance driveway for Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital on Maple Road and parking lot modification and addition to facilitate the 90,000 SF hospital addition.
The driveway was located approximately 64 feet east of its current position to properly align with MacArthur Drive, forming a four-way signalized intersection. The existing two sets of signals were replaced with one set, allowing for better traffic flow and improved traffic safety on Maple Road in the Town of Amherst, as well as for the hospital. The parking lot addition included 129 new parking lot spaces and provided additional parking to help meet current Town of Amherst codes.
New pavement, drainage, lighting, and internal greenspace was constructed to meet the current Town of Amherst planning requirements. All site work was also designed to meet the current New York State pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) general permit for storm water quantity and quality requirements.
